420 month is not as fun and full of memes as predicted. Tiger King was epic and deliciously trashy but hype/memes are starting to fade. Crayola-virus memes are also getting old and stale.
Work here exists but has slowed down d ue to the restrictions. I feel so much for those furloughed, at high risk of shutting down or straight up let go.
All these customer
EVO cars are
just sitting i
n “
regular car”
work bays.
The actual Risi Competizione shop
is closed up,
full of legends along with the current race car sitting patiently,
ready to destroy all!
Our Class iche shop is equally filled with old school legends waiting on Europe to open up again and deliver rare parts.
Our body shop is packed but with limited staff. We’re just trying to get those beasts in perfect shape and on the bumpy roads a gain lol.
As we are now on a rotating/limited staff, I had the day off yesterday and accidentally got a months worth of projects done lol. Woke up at 5am like normal and accomplished literally everything I had on the back burner lolz. All that’s left is genuinely SVENDing the rides. I’m talking clay bar, polish, wax and full interior detail. Will probably get on that on Sunday.
I’ m sure you rad peeps have done this already but when you have a second, check out Live and Let Diecast’s EPIC Drive Tribe page, Instagram and also on Instagram, the mega EPIC LaLDCustoms page.
Other than that, I’m here at work now, willing to chat with my homies. Any questions or thing you wanna talk aboot, let me know.

Yo! Still working, though I would not be shocked at a furlough next week.
Know the waiting for parts feeling, I placed an order for some Volvo stuff with Tasca on the 11th, they sent me a message saying something needed to be special ordered and would arrive in 3-5 business days. 10 business days later they sent me an email saying it hadn’t arrived and they had reordered and they would get it in 3-5 business days. We’ll see if that’s the case. Hard to be angry with everything going on right now though.

Well, I woke up to find I couldn’t log into a bunch of work websites which sent me into a panic. Turns out they moved some passwords around, so now I’m back in.
Nothing like thinking you’ve been let go for 20 minutes. Great way to start the day.
Also, that Enzo looks tremendous in blue.

Hey! Way to do work! I told my wife as we burned through “Tiger King”, “Man, this is great but it and the memes will come and go so quickly. It’s similar to what I dislike about podcasts...I get so invested and the story is so good....but it’s just one story...
Lucky for me, a few weeks ago before all of this noise. I decided that I liked the idea of customizing die casts and bought all of the supplies to customize my own, stripped a bunch of hot wheels and primed them... then moved on to something else. So now I have that to do after I finish the 007 DB5 lego I’m working on. Long story short I’m pumped to hear about the DT page because LaLD Kinja edish was about dead by the time I got interested.
Glad to hear you’re well and employed!

What an awesome job! So much cool hardware sitting around. That Enzo looks gorgeous, I’ve always loved those cars.
I’m still working since I work for DoD and am considered essential, but I might be going on injured reserve soon. I’ve been having some lower abdominal pains, and I’m pretty sure I have another hernia (I had one 12 years ago). It’s been rather unpleasant, but I talked to my doc and everyone everywhere is trying to avoid any procedures, surgeries, etc. unless absolutely necessary, so I may be riding this one out for a while.
I made up my mind, I want that Volvo up in PA but now I’m like triple screwed getting it - all the states I have to cross (PA, MD, and VA) are all on lockdown, and now with this hernia thing I’m going to be laying low for a while. Seller said in their ad they could arrange delivery, I haven’t talked to them about it yet, but I may look into that. If they want to take the risk and bring it down to me, might be worth it.

Hi mate.
I’m sitting in front of the TV and computer with a glass of wine on the second of my three nights off, before I have to go back to work for another four nights.
Was going to give Sandy a wash today but may do it tomorrow or next week.
I’ve treated my neighbour to a new taillight cluster for his VW Eos, should come in the next few days.
Bought some medical supplies for some carers as certain things are getting harder to find.
I may treat myself to some car cleaning stuff.

Yep, S60. The part they needed is the rubber str u t washer thing ( goes on the stack above the cross nut IIRC ). I could perhaps reuse the existing ones, but my experience has been that the Texas heat is pretty hard on rubber/ plastic parts, so seemed like a good idea to get new ones, and I’m also waiting on upper spring seats as part of the same shipment (they have these in stock, but want to send everything at once).

The C30 was Sony1492 and he said the seller never responded. I was looking at a 240 Wagon that needs some love.
I had a right groin hernia back in ‘ 08, this one is on the left, so at least I’ll be symmetrical now! For as bad as it is, the recovery is AWFUL! I was in agony for 2 weeks last time , so I’m really not looking forward to that. But it’s something I gotta get treated because it can cause a lot of problems down the line, including death! But I don’t think I’m at that point yet so I’ll just do my best to ride it out and hopefully I can get it fixed in a few weeks.
Doc ordered me to avoid lifting or strenuous work because it puts a strain on the abdominals and could make it worse. So that puts a halt on all my wrenching and house projects.

Oh ok, doing the 3 on 3 off deal at work. We thought about that here with my other guy but ended with alternation days just to keep our noted less spaced out an guaranteed 2 days off at one point.
Sandy level of clean is what I plan to do lol.
I’ll try not to forget some before and after shots for a cleaning post. It’s been 3-4 months since i’ve washed any car. They are pretty much always indoors which helps but is no excuse. I’ll be receiving some items for cleaning here shortly. Clay bar, tire shine, engine de- greaser and various things.

Today’s the end of the second week of remote work for me, which coincided with my family and I moving to a new house. Now I have a proper office, but no desk because I got rid of the old janky one and all of the furniture stores are closed, so I have to work in the kitchen. And I really don’t like working from home, but we have no choice — the office was disinfected a couple of days ago and now we’re prohibited from stepping in there for any reason until further notice.
At least our favorite place for
molcajetes
is still open.

Crayola-virus.....I LOVE IT! I’m pretty much going through my daily motions as usual, the only differences being online classes, and going for walks and runs outside rather than at Planet Fitness. 924 progress is actually moving ahead as normal, especially with my free time on weekends now.

Oh man it was super odd the way it felt yesterday being off from work but not on vacation and the store being open. Like, being purposely non productive. I soooo wanted to be at my desk and help get desperately needed revenue coming in. Kind of like being sent home for disciplinary reasons. We all want to prove are worth if it gets really bad but we can’t do that while being forced to stay home half the week. Not much I can do from home besides forwarding an email every now and then.

924 progress is always good, so is getting out for some cardio.
The LaFerrari and that F40 in the corner are in for basic maintenance. F40 is getting full engine reseal. T-belts, seals, orings, gaskets, fluids, injector rebuild, water
pump rebuild, engine bay cleaning, the works basically.
LaFerrari is technically scheduled maintenance
(oil filter, air filter, pollen filter coolant and drive belt)
but in
order to do the drive
belt on this V12
, you have to remove the rear bonnet entirely and drop the main KERS battery. While doing that, Ferrari puts on a couple serial number coded tamper-proof seals which have to be documented and ordered from Ferrari.
Other cars in that main shop are just waiting on a couple parts to be hopefully released from customs soon.

Yes! There’s a general sense of helplessness when one gets sent home from work, despite any promises of future job security by the employer. I’m glad to still have my job at full capacity, even if I whine about not being at the office.
Weirdly, I have been eating less than before getting sent home, just having two meals a day instead of three. Getting up at 9am on weekdays and 11am on weekends might have something to do with it, though. :D

When I was a kid my dad’s friend owned a body shop. We used to hang out there sometimes and I was always amazed at watching those guys do their thing. It’s an art form, I swear. Sometimes it seemed obvious, like “Okay, just hit the backside with a hammer and pop it out” but other times they would pull and tug on other parts of the body panel, and hammer spots that looked fine and suddenly, pop, it was all back to normal.
And that’s just getting the body straight, then you have to paint it. They had an excellent painter at the shop, he did some beautiful work. His project car was a 69 Chevelle that was the most gorgeous blue - the paint looked about 3' thick on it. All I’ve ever done is rattle can shit jobs.

I figured on the newer Ferraris, at least street cars, you just replace the damaged panels as you can’t straighten carbon fiber. Or c an you? D o you like cut and section it and patch it?

For sure! I’m down almost 40lbs from last year, and it looks and feels great!
By “full engine reseal”, you mean a rebuild short of removing the crank and pistons right?
The LaFerrari’s tamper seals are like a computer’s or laptop’s haha. And the replacement seals are vin-matched or serialized to each car?
EL_ULY
> K-Roll-PorscheTamer

40lbs! Fuck yeah duuuude kickass!!!!
Reseal like all cam seals, head gaskets, cap/cover gaskets, injector orings and a bunch that sort of stuff.
Some are stickers and some are like metal dog tags with serial numbers. All are ordered and documented with the factory. If you buy one and the seals are torn/sniped off, then a non-authorized shop had been in there messing with the KERS system

Oh yeah!! Those seals sound like a lotta fun to go through the motions and replace, genuinely. Engine work like that is therapeutic when it’s easily accessible.
Also, very neat, the way Ferrari literally keeps tabs on these cars.
